Make Your Masters Matter
After working as a writer, editor, and content creator for UCL News, I was recommended by UCL’s Central Communications Team to serve as a Student Champion, producing content that highlighted my university journey.
I consistently outperformed on every social platform, ranking highest among the five featured students.
Following the success of my campaign, I was invited to join UCL’s Central Communications Team as a Marketing and Social Media Officer.

“Meet Caroline Coyer from New York USA.
What started as a two-year Master’s program in Creative Documentary, has evolved into a longer stay because her career and life have flourished in ways she never imagined. Hear about her career journey and life in London.”
My content achieved the highest engagement across the campaign, outperforming on platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
Following the Make Your Masters Matter Campaign, I was invited back to the team after graduating as a Social Media and Marketing Officer, with one task being to create a Post Grad Promotional Video for UCL to share on popular marketing and education websites like Postgrad.com.
This video was scripted, filmed, and edited myself with help from the Social & Marketing team.

During my time with the UCL Central Comms Team, I played a key role in revitalizing the university's TikTok account over a three-month period. Collaborating closely with students, I developed engaging content tailored to resonate with the platform's audience, significantly enhancing its impact and reach.
All the videos showcased above were created through my direct collaboration with student content creators. I guided them in pitching ideas, refining edits, and ensuring their content aligned seamlessly with UCL’s platforms and audience.
Compared to the previous three months, during this reporting period—where @UCLofficial introduced student-made content—the TikTok account achieved notable growth:
Impressions up 81.3% to 318,063
Engagements rose 80.9% to 14,987
Net follower growth increased by 39.6%, adding 875 new followers
