Caroline Coyer is a multimedia journalist, filmmaker, and activist based in London and New York City.
Specializing in social impact through documentary film, her work spans a wide range of subjects, including amplifying the therapeutic power of art in prisons, documenting public queer performance art, and analyzing the media's impact on women’s health issues.
For the past three years, Caroline has focused her film practice on stories of incarceration, striving to collaborate with and amplify the voices of this resilient and powerful community.
She is currently in post-production on her second film, Bloom, which chronicles a surrealist painter’s journey to reclaim his freedom after 27 years in prison. This builds on the success of her debut documentary, A Second Look, which follows a wife and activist’s fight for her husband’s early release from a lengthy prison sentence. A Second Look has been screened at local arts collectives in upstate New York.
Caroline holds an MFA in Creative Documentary from UCL and a BA in Broadcast Journalism from NYU.
Caroline also works as a successful freelance marketing and social media officer, podcast producer, writer, and workshop leader.
